The Customer Service Manager will work with the Director of Customer
Service and other team members to oversee and execute management of customer deliveries and railroad car fleet movements.
Responsibilities and Duties:
• Handle inbound/outbound calls from/to our customers.
• Work with customers to provide them shifts for placing and releasing cars.
• Rating of inbound and outbound cars.
• Communicate with other Railroads to trace cars for customers.
• Tracking of car loads and revenue on specific customers assigned.
• Retrieve quarterly forecasts for customers.
• Cross train with other employees' customers for back up purposes.
• Other duties as assigned or needed.
Qualifications
• High level of computer proficiency required and specifically in MS Office and even more specifically, MS Excel.
• Experience with handling high volumes of inbound/outbound calls and emails.
• Customer service in the transportation industry preferred.
• Ability to work around loud machines and equipment.
• Ability to work alone or in mixed groups.
• Ability to prioritize projects, multi-task and adapt to emergency situations pertaining to
our customers.
• Must be able to lift up to, but not limited to, 40lbs.
• Ability to bend, stand, kneel or sit for long periods.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Finger dexterity, operation of motor vehicle, operation of equipment, manage multiple
tasks/projects, close attention to detail and adapt to ever changing work environment.
• Working hours are typically Monday-Friday between the hours of 7am and 6pm but will
occasionally require weekends, evenings and rotational on-call time.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Operational vehicle to commute to/from work.
• Positive attitude.
• Exposure to chemicals, noise and dust.
