Alright, let’s level
You probably never imagined yourself working in deathtech - and neither did we before we started Gathered Here over 4 years ago.
Now, we can’t think of anything more impactful than redesigning the death industry to be more approachable, accessible and transparent for the modern consumer.
We’re in the winning position to tackle our problem space
Gathered Here is Australia’s #1 end-of-life services website: 18% of all funerals include a comparison search on our website, 3.5% of all Wills are written on our free Wills platform, and we’re partnering with charities to raise $550m in charitable bequests before the end of 2022.
We just closed our VC-backed seed round and are incredibly excited to be growing our core team. We're looking for thoughtful and humble team players. People who are tenacious, exceptional and ready to jump in and build a global, sector-defining company.
Your work will have a genuine impact on peoples’ lives around the world
We're looking for an energetic and driven business development manager to play an integral role in increasing our charity partnerships across the country.
We’ve had incredible early traction, partnering with some of Australia’s largest charities, including WWF, NBCF and Black Dog Institute (with sales cycles measured in days, not weeks and months).
Among other things, your work will transform how charities attract and generate bequest income. Your work will contribute to raising billions of dollars for countless causes over the coming decade. That's a lot of social good to be bringing to the world.
We’re a fully remote company (even before it was cool)
Have a young family and don’t want to miss out on your kids growing up? Great.
Want to head up to Byron for a couple of weeks and work from there? Awesome - please share pictures :)
We work from wherever we’re the happiest and most productive, with incredible amounts of freedom and flexibility.
Let’s fast forward 12-months and look back at what you’ve accomplished
- You took the leap and jumped headfirst into a challenging but fascinating problem space
- You established and owned the full sales cycle, from prospecting, generating leads and building pipelines, to scheduling meetings and closing new partners
- Consistently seeking to increase deal-flow, sales velocity and conversion rates, you worked cross-functionally with product, marketing and operations to create new systems, features, and compelling presentations and materials
- Beyond the sale, you built out the beginnings of our customer success function, working closely with our partners to launch campaigns on our platform at full scale
Now, over to you...
- You’ve done this before. You have 3+ years' experience in business development (B2B or B2B2C) with a proven record of top performance and exceeding targets. Preferably, you've been an early sales hire in a startup and have experience operating and building a sales function with significant autonomy.
- You're thoughtful and empathic. While it's important to always be closing, you go about your craft by immersing yourself deeply in the product and industry, and becoming an expert in the space. You have an interest in the charity sector and can empathise with your key stakeholders. You understand their needs and pains, offer appropriate solutions, and accurately relay this information back to the product team.
- You're an excellent writer. While you're an excellent speaker and presenter, you can also back it up by writing persuasive and concise emails, collateral and business cases.
- You’re excited to be first feet on the ground. You won’t be slotting into a highly structured partnerships team and being told what to do and which lanes to stay in. As one of the first hires in our partnerships team, you'll play a critical role in shaping the function, constantly testing new approaches, and building out our systems and automation.
Other reasons why we think you’ll like working here
- Competitive base salary plus equity
- We’re a flexible life and family-friendly company. Need to work around school, home or other commitments? You’re free to set when you start and finish your day and everything in between
- We’re a genuinely nice bunch of humans, and we live our values of being thoughtful, humble and tenacious
- We can’t guarantee you’ll become a zen master, but we prioritise mental balance and wellbeing. All employees have free access to Headspace
