Technical Co-Founder

On the hunt for a technical co-founder to help accelerate our analytics and financial forecast application. Here's the bullet point summary:

Team

• bootstrapped, current founders have full time jobs; been building for 3+ years
• myself, non-tech, day job in the VFX/film industry; putting in 20-30 hours per week on startup; possibility of going full-time in early 2023
• self-funded. Open to seeking Angel investment
• Fractional CTO, mostly high level design and architecture, little coding, 2 hours per week
• 3 full time comp-sci co-op student, 1 full time front end, 1 part-time senior dev functioning mostly as a mentor
• product in market, very early days on revenue

Product

• whatifi.io - a highly visual, if-this-then-that style financial scenario modelling platform. We help Founder and SMB owners VISUALLY create, compare and present "what if" financial models to the clients, teams and investors.

• solid, working version of product in market. In our early adopter, early access phase.
• grand vision - a Zapier like platform for automating finance and financial decisions. Expansion verticals from personal finance to enterprise to real estate

The Ask

• need a technical co-founder to truly own the codebase and the project
• hitting our limits with complexity and velocity using co-op students that churn out every 8 months; this approach is no longer scaleable
• ideally able to dedicate 20+ hours per week; equity only
• needs to be okay with a bootstrap, indie style approach to building traction and product
• we're based in Vancouver. Ideally you would be within a couple of time zones of PST
• not looking for an outsource agency at this point, thanks
• tech stack; React, Node.js, Typescript, Javascript, Konva.js, Go, Postgres, AWS
• any experience with sales and marketing would be a bonus
