Field Operations Manager

Daily Blends is an early stage food-tech startup backed by some of the top VCs in Toronto, New York and Silicon Valley. We are on a mission to make healthy, nutritious, high-quality food as accessible as a can of soda!

We're building and operating a data-driven network of Smart Fridges that offer chef-curated, fresh, healthy meals at affordable prices. We place these Smart Fridges at locations such as hospitals, college campuses, malls, residential complexes, office buildings and transit hubs to make hand-crafted healthy meals and snacks accessible to everyone.

We're looking for candidates who can wear multiple hats, who are hustlers and can get work done. The ideal candidate will instill and maintain operational excellence while also helping build the team’s internal culture and optimizing the existing foundation. This position will oversee and be responsible for handling all aspects of operations for our startup from overseeing the restocking of our fridges with fresh meals to ensuring the timely production of food, scheduling work orders, coordinating deployments of our new fridges. This is a high-growth role with the opportunity to grow into a leadership operations position, help build our team and hire more people as we grow.

Responsibilities:

• Help set up procedures and workflows to make fresh food reach our fridges from a central kitchen in the quickest possible time
• Coordinating deployments of our new fridges and making sure all new fridge locations are set up correctly
• Overseeing the timely delivery of freshly-prepared meals to our fridge locations across the GTA
• Ensuring stock numbers at fridges are updated accurately
• Managing light servicing of these fridges as needed; including setting up efficient procedures for fridge sanitation and maintenance
• Coordinating with our production team for timely food packaging and dispatch
• Accurate tracking and maintenance of raw material, packaging material, and finished goods
• Ensure maintenance of a safe, clean, and well-organized working environment
• Conducting ad-hoc analysis to inform and support merchandising priorities and projects
• Managing a diverse group of individuals across various teams
• Overseeing the completion of repairs on site by third party contractors

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, Transportation Management, Fleet Management, and/or related field/work experience
• Experience in management, operations, and leadership
• Ability to operate in ambiguous situations and be flexible as the company changes and grows
• Works well under stress, manages time well and good at multitasking
• Formal Project Management skills and use of Project Management platforms like Asana or Smartsheet
• A valid G license with 3 years of record in good standing
• Excellent analytical aptitude and experience with Excel and other data analysis tools
• Understanding of general finance and budgeting, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash-flow management
