About the role
We are looking for a motivated senior leader to lead and build our compensation function globally. This individual will fully own our compensation strategy and programs across our tech and non-tech organizations and partner closely with leaders in our Finance, Accounting, Legal, People Operations, and Talent teams.
This is a fully remote position that can be based anywhere in the US.
Responsibilities
- Compensation strategy: develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive compensation strategy that aligns with our business goals and ensures competitive and fair compensation practices
- Oversee all aspects of compensation programs, including salary structures, equity awards, and other incentives
- Manage timely and robust market analysis that supports compensation design, pay equity, and other compensation studies
- Compensation design: stay up to date on trends and programs that reward top talent
- Partner with the Legal team to ensure that all compensation practices adhere to local and international labor laws, regulations, and governance requirements
- Manage and administer executive compensation programs, including salary, bonuses, and long-term incentives
- Manage ongoing employee compensation programs such as quarterly bonuses, and annual market reviews, including promotion and equity refresh cycle
- Develop and implement effective communication strategies to educate employees about their compensation to ensure transparency and understanding
- Provide recommendations on pay actions and external and internal recruitment utilizing survey sources, market references, internal equity, and other data as appropriate
- Work closely with Finance, Talent, & HRBPs to drive a successful compensation strategy
- Build and empower a small but mighty team to do the best at their craft, including removing roadblocks, developing decision-making frameworks, and developing plans.
Skills and Qualifications
- 10+ years of relevant experience in compensation, including 5+ years of recent experience in a senior leadership role
- Proven experience in developing and implementing effective compensation strategies in a complex, fast-paced, and high-growth tech environment
- Ability to work seamlessly in both an individual contributor and senior leadership capacity and operate with a consistent “player-coach” mindset
- Strong understanding of global compensation principles, regulations, and market trends
- Ability to analyze complex problems and draw conclusions from data
- Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills; must have the ability to effectively manage a team, motivate employees, and collaborate with various departments
- Takes initiative and uses sound judgment; excellent follow-up skills
- Recognize confidential, sensitive, and proprietary information and maintain confidentiality
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Familiarity with Workday compensation functionality is critical
Compensation
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The US base salary for this position ranges from $180,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $240,000/year in our highest geographic market. Consistent with applicable laws, an employee's pay within this range is based on a number of factors, which include but are not limited to relevant education, skills, job-related knowledge, qualifications, work experience, credentials, and/or geographic location.
