Senior Software Engineer / CTO, Founding Team Member

The Problem: Furniture retailers and consumers lose $40 billion annually by tossing reusable furniture.

Because of this waste, retailers and consumers aren't just losing money but are also contributing to the 9 million tons of furniture sent to U.S. landfills annually.

Most retailers and consumers have not tackled this problem because of the logistical challenges associated with reusing damaged, overstock, returned, and gently used customer furniture.

About Us: LoopDeco helps reduce losses and the environmental impact by making furniture sustainability easy and profitable for businesses and consumers. We are achieving this by leaning on existing resellers to tackle furniture waste at scale. Through our web platform, retailers and consumers are connected furniture resellers to keep furniture out of landfills and in circulation.

Our co-founder has been working in this space for over 2 years under his company CouchCycled. Since launching in 2022, CouchCycled has achieved $400k in revenuew with no outside funding. We are launching LoopDeco as a new entity and are first focused on creating a reseller network by providing tools that help their business succeed.

The Role: As our Head of Engineering, you will steer the software development lifecycle from ideation to production. Your mission is to ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable products. Working hand in hand with a 3rd party product team, you will transform business requirements into technical solutions and have significant influence over our product direction and roadmap. Ideal candidates will have experience in the retail space working on logistics and reporting tools. Experience in a startup environment is strongly preferred.

Short term, you'll also be responsible for building a robust engineering team and fostering a strong engineering culture. The position is remote, but candidates from the Dallas/Fort Worth or Austin metro areas are preferred.

Your passion is creating features that delight end-users, and you have a proven track record in building and scaling products and engineering teams. Big plus if you’ve held a founding engineer or CTO role previously.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in building and scaling large-scale software systems from scratch
• Strong technical skills in web development, database design, and software architecture, ideally with fintech tools and challenges
• Solid track record of delivering high-quality software products
• Experience managing and mentoring a team of engineers
• Stellar communication and interpersonal skills
• Interest in the retail space and a committment to improving out planet
