Senior Front-end Developer

We're looking for front-end developer to take an important role in maturing our collaborative, cloud-based geospatial platform. The primary focus of this role is on tooling and architecture to support continued feature development & improve the overall developer & customer experience as platform usage accelerates.

You'll be working fully remotely within an experienced team. We have a pretty interesting and challenging roadmap ahead and have some very good market traction.

The role

• Modernise our monorepo tooling to improve developer experience, CI safety & performance
• Improve UX, for both developers & customers through well-crafted tooling, components, shared libraries & frameworks
• Oversee development of new features in a highly interactive, collaborative environment with streaming real world geospatial data
• Identify opportunities to improve customer experience and be responsive to internal and external user feedback
• Improve observability so that we find problems before our users do
• Hold code reviews & feedback sessions with other front-end developers
• Collaborate with developers, sales, operations and CEO to improve processes, standards & communications and make life easier for everyone

Requirements

• High degree of competency working with JavaScript, TypeScript & React.
• High degree of competency with CSS.
• Experience with either highly interactive, real-time interfaces or complex front-end tooling
• Have Australian residency or PR.
• Have at least 4 years commercial or open source experience as a developer.

Preferable, but not essential

• Experience with WebGL
• Experience with geospatial data & interfaces
• Experience with JS bundling & transpilation (Webpack, Esbuild, Vite, Lerner, Nx, etc)
• Experience with server-side rendering (SSR)

Salary: $130,000.00 – $155,000.00 per year
