The Role

The Role

Community Capital Technology Inc. (“CCT”) is looking for a high-energy, results-driven Business Development Segment Lead (“BDSL”) to join our team. The BDSL is responsible for the development and delivery of the assigned market/segment strategy and qualifying revenue opportunities for the defined geographic market or prospect segment (e.g., a specific geography or sales channel). BDSLs work closely the CCT Commercial Leader, CCT Transaction Specialists, CCT Account Management, the CCT Executive Team, and other key internal stakeholders to ensure delivery of the strategy and its defined financial objectives and market growth metrics.

This role is designed for an individual looking to be part of an innovative and dynamic fintech startup, and a close-knit, creative team, with the ability to have a material, direct impact on the next stage of growth and development of our rapidly-scaling company and client base. It is an exciting opportunity to identify and create new business opportunities to fuel our growth across the financial services/credit market ecosystem including Community Banks, Regional Banks, Credit Unions, and other direct Originators / NBFIs.
Ideal candidates will be passionate about finance and disruptive, transformative technology; have sound business acumen with natural sales instincts; and be an eager, highly-motivated, and tenacious self-starter. This will be a player-coach function, which means that the individual will need to be able to generate new business opportunities to define and fuel CCT’s growth in key markets, alongside - as we grow - building, leading, and motivate in-market business development team to achieve targeted goals.

What You’ll Do

Individual Responsibilities

  • Leader for their specific segment, including generating new client relationship opportunities and optimizing relationships with existing clients
  • Define, own (directly and/or as part of the larger sales organization) and achieve target monthly/quarterly scorecard/targets – e.g., segment revenue budget, new member signup growth, loan opportunities posted/traded and new prospects created.
  • Works with the CCT Commercial Leader to develop and gain leadership support for the segment specific strategy, identifies target prospects, ensures adequate client and prospect relationship coverage to reach targets
  • Create and prioritize strategic target account lists and account conversion plans within the defined segment and territory.
  • Research and build new and existing accounts (i.e., strategic calling, e-mails, follow-ups etc.)
  • Initiates new and further deepens existing client relationships within the segment to create business opportunities and revenue growth for CCT
  • Optimizes client familiarity and use of the CCT online marketplace, including providing technology product presentations, as required.
  • Gathers and synthesizes client feedback for improvement opportunities on the CCT online marketplace; partners with the internal team to help implement client feedback into the product design
  • Works with the Client Relationship Team and other CCT colleagues in on-boarding of new client relationships
  • Drive attendance to relevant field events such as prospecting events, conferences, executive roundtables and webinars, as applicable
  • Conduct high-level discovery conversations and meetings with prospect and existing accounts to support Transactions Team.

Segment Lead Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, train and optimize a team of future segment BDDs responsible for creating new opportunity pipeline.
  • Hold team accountable to develop quarterly prospecting strategies and plans that tie to new opportunity generation.
  • Establish and monitor the performance of the team and ensure they are driving the desired activity levels.
  • Ensure all team members have a developed monthly activity requirement. You’ll report on results via a report process and dashboard for assigned territories.
  • Manage in-bound and out-bound lead flow and track efficiency on follow-ups.

Who You Are

  • 8+ years of experience in demand marketing or ISR/BDR/SDR function with proven track record of success in SaaS Enterprise technology company (preferably fintech) and/or experience working with financial institutions. A background and existing relationships in capital markets / loan originations & underwriting a significant plus.
  • Strong work ethic, comfort with collaborative thinking, experimentation, and an entrepreneurial/do-it-yourself ethos along with excellent problem solving, communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • Superior client service aptitude.
  • Ability to deliver on a sales budget in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, collaborative, and cross-functional culture.
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to new demands and new responsibilities with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Assertiveness, directness, and a “company first” mentality.
  • Must have experience/comfort working with:
  • New technologies / technology products
  • CRMs and other sales productivity tools (ideally HubSpot)
  • MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Bachelor’s Degree, major in business or economics preferred.
