The Role

The Front Office Assistant will help with pivotal administrative tasks for this high volume, insurance-based surgical practice, ensuring that the busy insurance-based surgical practice runs smoothly and seamlessly. They will also help liaise with our Surgical Coordinator to ensure the seamless experience for our patients from end-to-end. Responsibilities include:
· Answering practice phone calls, checking voicemail and faxes, managing the answering service
· Checking-in and greet patients during clinic (and back up for patient check out)
· Liaising with surgery scheduler on surgery booking, surgery consents, pre-authorizations, nuclear medicine appointments, and implant orders
· Coordinating with billing consultants
· Coordinating credentialing with all insurance providers and hospitals
· Checking new and follow-up patient insurance eligibility
· Coordinating patient photo consent for their before/after photos
· Capturing, tracking, and fielding of patient reviews

Experience
· 1-3 years of experience in the medical administration
· Background in a busy, insurance-based medical practice is preferred
· Experience working with surgical coordinators is a plus
· Experience in a surgical cancer, women’s health, or plastic surgery practice is a plus
· Experience in patient billing coordination is a plus

Logistics:
· This role can be filled by someone who can work 20-32 hours per week, ideally on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays
· The practice is based in San Francisco – ability to travel to the Pacific Heights area by public transportation is preferred
