The Role

LinksPro is seeking a Sales Engineer to come join us on our exciting journey of growth! The LinksPro Sales Engineer will work closely with Account Executives in a pre-sales technical role configuring solutions to meet complex technology needs of our current and prospective customers. The candidate will be a key partner in the sales cycle and interact with customers (both over the phone and on site) to build trust and act as a principal advisor by showcasing our solutions, setting up product demonstrations, and explaining the value of our technology solutions to customers. The ideal candidate will provide sales support and project engineering services by assisting with client needs analysis, technology design, proposal generation, scope of work development and maintaining relationships with our strategic partners. Core Responsibilities:

  • Assist the sales teams with technical knowledge pertaining to the products and solutions offered by the company.
  • Provide pre-sales technical assistance and product education to the sales team, current and prospective clients.
  • Provide technical specifications for quotations/proposals and prepare accompanying materials.
  • Interpret customer requirements; speak with customers or prospects to understand their needs and relay this information to the account executives.
  • Perform technical presentations that demonstrates how products and services can benefit and meet customer or prospect needs.
  • Support the sales team by managing schedules, creating sales documents and proposals, generating sales related reports for management, and performing general office functions.
  • Serve as liaison with other departments in the company to gather technical expertise for supporting the Sales Team.
  • Support marketing activities by attending trade shows, conferences, and other related events. (May be restricted due to Covid-19 pandemic)
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of the service catalog and how it relates to customer’s needs.
  • Responsible for prospecting and qualifying new sale opportunities.
  • Effectively communicate features and benefits of solutions and manage prospect expectations.
  • Receive requests for service and products details from prospects and provide timely responses.
  • Achieve and maintain a positive rapport with prospects and work to give them the best possible service.
  • Properly enter all sales leads and prospects into PSA system in a timely manner.
  • Work through a daily list of sales activities assigned.
  • Communicate and report sales forecasts to the outside sales team.
  • Handle and prioritize prospects and customer requests among the sales team.
  • Serve as liaison with other departments in the company to gather documentation and data for supporting the sales team.
  • Monitor sales activity in ConnectWise and assist the Sales Representatives where needed.
  • Assist in minimal project deployments

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Attend weekly sales meetings and ensure sales opportunities are compliant with company policy.
  • Assist with sales projects and provide cross functional assistance to other departments when needed.
  • Document internal processes and procedures related to duties and responsibilities.
  • Responsible for entering time and expenses in PSA system as they occur.
  • Understand processes in PSA system by completing assigned training materials.
  • Review relevant publications and online materials to remain up to date with current and future trends emerging in the industry.
  • Enter all work as activities or service tickets in PSA system.

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Candidate must be able to effectively communicate technical information to business executives in a way that is easy to understand.
  • Sales engineer must exhibit high technical acumen and business values.
  • Previous experience of requirements gathering design and solution building and the ability to replicate this in a commercial setting.
  • Comfortable working with hosting technologies including Windows and Linux based server systems, network storage systems and data center infrastructure.
  • Working knowledge of current security issues and technologies concerning the industry, together with a demonstrable interest in keeping abreast with technical developments in this field.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with cloud-based/hybrid hosting and network solutions designs.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with resilient solution design for networks and cloud-based/hybrid hosting solutions and discuss security implications for the two disciplines
  • Good working knowledge of Internet connectivity methods including, MPLS, VPN and leased circuit services using fiber and wireless presentation.
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships internally at a variety of levels and work closely with commercial departments such as sales, operations, executive management and product development
  • Organized and analytical, able to eliminate sales obstacles through creative and adaptive approaches.
  • Ability to cope under pressure and prioritize work accordingly.
  • Active driver’s license and willingness to travel through sales territory Project management experience a distinct advantage.
