The Role

Chef Robotics is on a mission to accelerate the advent of intelligent machines in the physical world. As the rise of LLMs like ChatGPT has shown, AI has the potential to drive immense change. However, we believe AI’s biggest impact will be in the physical world, given industries like manufacturing, food, and transportation represent 90% of global GDP. We're starting with food, with a goal to put an intelligent robot in every commercial kitchen in the world. We have signed multiple multi-year contracts with various large food companies and we are growing fast. We're backed by investors like Kleiner Perkins, Construct, Bloomberg BETA and Promus Ventures. We have a great team, where you will be surrounded by talented engineers and tech leaders from companies like Cruise, Zoox, Google, Verb Surgical, Tesla, Nuro, Vicarious, Amazon Robotics, Strateos, Built Robotics, Facebook, Plenty, Yelp, and Microsoft.

The Job
Success in the job requires a mentality of constantly pursuing the highly skilled and highly coveted, passive engineering talent without over reliance on databases, external platforms, or job boards. Chef is an AI enabled robotics company, recruiting in this field is challenging and a strong network is needed.

As recruiting leader, the role has full responsibility for the process, start to finish, including: recruitment marketing (ex: LinkedIn, Twitter), outbound campaigns (ex: Teamable), working connections and tools to find and engage candidates that are not looking, applicant management (we use Lever) and with the hiring managers help writing great job descriptions, written challenges and evaluation questions for interviewers, creating winning offer letters and finally building and executing comprehensive onboarding. Key objectives of the job include:

• Refine and grow our recruiting processes to deliver high caliber hires, through a combination of internal work, recruiting firms and consultants without breaking the budget with recruiting fees.
• Manage the full cycle recruiting processes to ensure a smooth and positive candidate experience.
• Own top-of-funnel strategy, drive searches, and run point on offers and closing candidates.
• Work and lead Lever ATS
• Partner with engineering leaders across our Robotics team on talent strategy, contributing your expertise on the engineering market, planning interview best practices, and building an effective recruiting process to ensure we obtain and attract world-class diverse talent
• Use analytics and data to drive change and influence hiring decisions
• Be diligent in holding to our high hiring bar and in seeking out the right fit for both Chef and job seekers we interview from a skillset and cultural perspective
• Partner with the recruiting and sourcing team to build active pipeline, implement, and adopt new and existing programs, tools, workflows to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of our processes
• Build the people and recruiting strategy, Work with executives and leadership to understand strategic and operational objectives and develop organizational models and hiring plans to support goals.

Our roles are diverse. You should be ready, and motivated to learn the product, engineering roles well enough to understand the characteristics of the candidate we are seeking. Recruiting requires the skills of a sales professional, you should know how to speak to a reluctant candidate to get them excited about the company and role. Recruiting begins with visibility; you know how to drive strategy and execution of our recruitment marketing and employer brand efforts.

• You are intellectually curious with the ability to grasp new technical concepts quickly and converse credibly with engineering experts
• You have integrity and a strong work ethic
• You have a passion for hard-tech and ideally an interest in robotics
• Proven track record of hiring incredible talent across a myriad of talents, teams and functions, and consistently optimizing time-to-hire.
• Comfortable and able to thrive in a dynamic, fluid and fast-paced environment.

NOTE: This is 100% (5 days a week) in the office in SF
