Isodate (https://isodate.co) is a Toronto based, online dating startup that is changing the way singletons around the world date through a new mechanic: Video speed dating. Through our platform we host dozens of curated in house and matchmaker led, virtual speed dating events around the world. This is the new and better way to online date, and we are needing individuals to help bring the concept and the brand to the masses.
This Role
The head of business development is responsible for building and scaling business relationships in this rapidly growing medium of dating. Our mission is to make Isodate one of the biggest online dating companies in the world. We are looking for someone in helping us achieve our growth goals in 2021 and beyond. The ideal candidate will prospect, evaluate, build, and manage long-term revenue-generating relationships that accelerate the growth and reach of video speed dating and Isodate in North America and beyond. This role requires a tremendous entrepreneurial spirit; an ability to think beyond the norm; and a deep ability to discover new verticals and markets for our product.
Your Responsibilities
• Identify, develop and launch new partnerships in various verticals
• Own partner prospecting, qualification, negotiation, and closing
• Effectively articulate our value proposition through the creation of decks, one-pagers, proposals, and other client-facing deliverables
• Manage a small business development team to execute our strategy and hit our growth targets
Core Requirements
• 4+ years of relevant experience in partnerships, business development and/or sales.
• Previous experience of wearing multiple hats in a start-up
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong sense of ownership
• Experience closing multiple deals (partnerships)
• Comfortable with very aggressive growth targets
• Proven track record of high-level negotiation and successful internal and external relationship management
• Able to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced rapidly changing environment
• Strong interpersonal skills, great communicator/influencer, and critical thinker

• Prior relevant experience in online dating
• Prior relevant experience in SaaS
