We are looking for a self-motivated Director of Sales to bring their previous success of implementing and managing a sales department to our EdTech startup. You will work directly with our CEO to ensure we have systems setup to handle sales. Once those systems are in place, you’ll implement and execute those systems. Once they’re executing effectively, you’ll begin to build a team to execute them for you, resulting in your position becoming more of a managerial role to ensure the team and systems are running as efficiently and effectively as possible. We are a fast-paced environment focused on revolutionizing education.
MISSION:
- Develop, maintain, and improve our Sales program implementation
OUTCOMES (Expected within 1 month of being hired)
1. Map out a one-year roadmap of a Sales department implementation (including quarterly OKRs)
2. Create Org Structure of each role for a Sales Department Team
a. Include timeline of when that role needs to be filled
b. Include scorecards for each role
3. Set-up the following systems for…
a. How we setup and execute social media strategy
b. How we increase inbound inquiries from new customers
c. How we manage our outbound sales (including sales script and playbook from open to close)
d. Implementing a new CRM system
e. How we run weekly standup meetings with clients (frequency, duration, format, accountability of meeting items, execution, etc.)
f. How to work with Marketing and Customer Success team
g. How we spotlight current team members and make them feel special
h. How we increase customer referrals
i. How we ensure accountability of Sales Team with rewards and consequences
j. How we create future Sales team roadmaps (including OKRs)
k. How we conduct performance reviews & evaluate talent (regular performance reviews, including: what, how, when)
l. How we recruit and onboard and train
- Include history of the company m. How our internship programs work
- Recruit and onboard and train n. How we ensure team success and grow talent (Lunch & Learns, retreats, learning for growth) o. How we manage compensation plans
- Including: Initial salaries/commission, time of Promotions, raises, bonuses, gamifying performance to create a healthy competition among sales team members, benefits, etc. p. How we handle grant writing q. How we handle donor procurement r. How we handle setup and implementation of fundraising events like galas
COMPETENCIES
- You’re extremely well organized and love setting up systems and frameworks
- You’re not only great at organizing the systems, but also executing them to ensure they are completed (ex: you’re not only great at setting an agenda for a team meeting, but also ensure the tasks have been delegated and followed up on, to ensure they were properly executed)
- You have previous experience successfully implementing and managing a Sales department
- You have experience building the aforementioned systems above, or know how to find the way to build them
- You know there is always a solution, you just need to dig deeper.
- You know people can sometimes become efficient at the wrong things. Therefore, you ensure you and the team remain focused at being efficient on only the most important priorities to be effective, not just efficient.
