Concured is a multi-award winning, Content Marketing Artificial Intelligence start-up based in London, UK and Montreal, Canada. The company is venture backed and one of the fastest growing Content Marketing companies in the world. As part of its rapid growth Concured is seeking an ambitious Finance & Operations Manager. Concured works with some of the biggest companies world-wide including Playstation, Mastercard, BBC and Standard & Poors to support them in making faster, better, data-backed decisions around content creation and promotion.

Duties and responsibilities

Accounting and controls

• Manage all aspects of weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting, preparation of month end accounts, tax returns, completion of bank and balance sheet reconciliations
• Take ultimate responsibility for cash forecasting
• Overseeing the preparation of the statutory accounts and other statutory returns

• Manage the audit process, tax planning and compliance
• Understand regulation, legislation and industry developments and how they will impact the business. The ability to see around corners to protect the business from changes.
• Develop relationships with external advisors, e.g. solicitors and banks

Business Process and Systems

• Ensure that company systems are robust, compliant and support current activities and future growth.
• Identify areas that require improvement and implement necessary changes to support business development and efficient working practices

Commercial

• Provide an analytical and detailed approach to business reporting and analysis to provide key stakeholders with an interpretation and understanding of business performance
• Make recommendations to optimise the company’s financial performance
• Providing financial analysis and guidance on all activities, plans, targets and business drivers.

• Work with senior management to improve efficiencies and reduce company burn
• Drive improvements to reporting, KPI tracking and develop forecasting models (P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow)
• Work with senior management to assist and advise on pricing and legal terms for new contracts
• Learn, advise and implement on government support programs in the UK and Canada, for example R&D claim preparations and new support programs being announced in relation to COVID.

Person Specification

• Qualified accountant with at least 5 years PQE (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
• Familiar with Xero
• Commercial acumen, ideally with startup experience
• Commercially astute, articulate, technically strong and insightful individual with the ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels in pursuit of business growth and success
• With strong IT skills, a continuous drive to identify areas for standardisation, simplification or improvement to business process, procedures and systems
• Ability to analyse and make recommendations, able to deal with new concepts with a high degree of complexity and handle high volumes of data and multiple stakeholders
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to persuade and influence
• Committed, enthusiastic and able to use initiative to drive the business forward and drive through key business changes
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• High integrity and openness combined with a commitment for good governance
