Our Pitch:
At Edgevanta, we make software that helps contractors win more work at the right price with the least hassle. Our intuitive, web-based bidding and backlog management platform is built to give our customers the information they need to improve their profitability.

A little more on Edgevanta:
Our co-founder and CEO, Tristan Wilson, is a 4th generation contractor who carries a legacy of his family's former business, Barriere Construction, based in South Louisiana. He spent most of his career bidding and managing highway construction projects, realizing that the key to winning contracts lies not just in calculating one's costs but in considering many other important factors like historical bidding data, intelligence about competitors, and resource availability.

Our software automates the painfully manual process of collecting bidding data, pricing trends, backlog management, and resource allocation for construction companies. Since launching our first product in 2022, we have quickly grown to earn the business of some of the country's premier paving and infrastructure contractors with a small team. Our ARR grew 80% in the first three months of 2024, and we’re just getting started.

Before Edgevanta, contractors used spreadsheets or siloed, legacy systems to manage their bidding process and backlogs. Edgevanta syncs with ERP’s, estimating programs, and public agency websites in 1 centralized data and analytics platform. We give contractors back time in their day. Our core values are results, curiosity, fixing customer problems, candor, and doing good.

Technologies we work with:

  • Frontend: React, Next.js, Javascript
  • Backend: Convex (Node), Python, SQL (PostgreSQL), AWS (Cognito, Lambda, API Gateway)
  • Deployment: Vercel, AWS (EC2), Docker

What you will be responsible for:

  • Day-to-day management and growth of the engineering team
  • 1:1s, recruiting, onboarding, career growth & mentorship
  • Hire great people
  • Technical strategy
  • Build an engineering culture where people aspire to achieve and produce work they initially thought was beyond their abilities.
  • Implement agile development process; increase accountability, manage and execute on-time sprints, work against prioritized product roadmaps and company goals.

What we want you to achieve:

  • Deliver high-quality SaaS applications on our roadmap
  • Manage and build a data integrations team connecting customers’ ERP’s, estimating programs, and public agency websites into our platform
  • Grow the team to 6 by the end of 2024 and 12 by the end of 2025
  • Build QA and DevOps functions that achieve automated testing and continuous deployment of always-on, high-quality software
  • Champion SOC-2 compliance
  • Build and endorse a strong engineering+technology culture

*Ideally, you have: *

  • Experience managing an engineering team
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field (preferred but not required)
  • Proven ability to push new apps/features to production, manage tech debt, improve platform performance, and maintain dev-op architecture
