Later & Mavrck

In March 2022, Later was acquired by Boston-based influencer marketing platform Mavrck. The Mavrck platform allows large enterprise brands to automate their influencer marketing strategy for smoother partnerships and performance on campaigns. Together, we’re helping connect creators & marketers to grow their social followings and businesses on social media.

Reporting to the CFO, the VP of FP&A will build and lead an FP&A organization that is a strategic thought partner to the business while also establishing effective financial & strategic planning, forecasting and reporting processes that scale with our growth. You will strive to establish FP&A as both a facilitator and a control function in providing strategic decision making support to our business leaders and maintain strong processes and operating oversight. You will lead data-driven analysis critical to optimizing Sales, Marketing, Product, Services and tech resource allocation and to effectively balance Mavrck’s high-growth trajectory with desired operational leverage. This is a highly visible role where you will prepare presentations and provide strategic advice and support for our Executive team, including the CEO, CFO and BOD.

What you’ll be doing

  • Be a strategic partner and become a key advisor to the Executive team, focusing on growth opportunities, resource allocation, expense management, operational metrics, profitability of the business and execution against OKRs
  • Lead annual operating planning process, quarterly and monthly financial forecasts, and ongoing analysis of actuals versus prior periods, plan and/or forecasts.
  • Work closely with accounting to improve the overall efficiency of the finance organization as well as improve visibility and depth of understanding of all key financial metrics
  • Foster partnerships with sales, marketing, product, services and tech to improve unit economics and drive down acquisition & servicing costs
  • Partner with data and analytics on dashboard creation, management and execution.
  • Implement financial planning software such as Adaptive Planning, Planful or Anaplan
  • Prepare management reporting / dashboards for Executives - analyze results, distill/synthesize business performance indicators, assess business risk and operating performance, and timely communicate risks and opportunities to management
  • Manage and scale the FP&A organization personnel, processes and systems in a fast-moving environment.

  • 10 years progressively responsible FP&A experience, of which a minimum of 4 years must be in the SaaS industry and a minimum 5 years in a leadership position managing teams
  • Experience in both growth-stage and public companies required
  • Demonstrated proficiency in analyzing operational & financial data to deliver strategic insights
  • Experience in financing, public company readiness and M&A transactions
  • Technology and systems forward thinker with Netsuite, Salesforce & Adaptive Insights (or similar) experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability in building relationships across the organization and drive cross-functional results
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to partner and influence senior leadership stakeholders. Capable of communicating complex financial information in an easy to understand format. Able to interact comfortably and drive alignment with the executive management team
  • Strong leader with demonstrated ability to work well under pressure, thrive in a fast-paced environment, grow and develop team members and stay flexible through growth and change
  • A self-starter who enjoys building and tackling new challenges on an ongoing basis
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business is required, MBA preferred
