The Role

We're looking for a CEO to run Maxwell Tribeca, our first social club. A once in a life opportunity to own the balance sheet, optimize profits, build customers, and build and optimize an already thriving business 1 year into operations.

This is a startup, 100% commitment -- do not apply if you are not in the phase of life where you can work 70+ hours a week.

More info on Maxwell:
Maxwell Tribeca is a membership community of irreverent and curious people interested in making a difference through building New York City’s new center of high culture, intellectual discussion & fun, together. We've lost our city's community institutions -- the churches, synagogues and mosques, the Italian American clubs and Romanian Men's associations, and the Rotarians, Elks, Moose and more, and replaced them with private clubs that are more gated restaurants than communities. But the core to every community was contribution -- you used to teach Sunday school, you made cookies for the bake sale and you cooked shabbat dinner. Maxwell is building a membership club where members are forced to contribute by planning, hosting, cooking or otherwise participating in the community, and building that community around real cultural and intellectual exchange, intimate dinner parties, book groups and more.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Playbook Formulation: Test out new event concepts, formats, chat groups, sports teams and formulate a playbook of community best practices.
  • Tech Product Development: Use community best practices to contribute to the development and ultimately deployment of new tech features that enhance the experience of the Maxwell Tribeca community.
  • Staffing: Deal with all logistical challenges of running the space, build and hire the staff.
  • Marketing Initiatives: Bring in partnerships & launch initiatives in the space that support the wider Maxwell vision as defined by the head of marketing.
  • Membership Engagement: Recruitment of new members, onboarding and member engagement.
  • Construction Management: Manage house improvement projects.
  • Analytics: Analyze membership health, revenue stats and more to optimize overall business health.
