Power BI Lead - Remote

This role is responsible for leading all aspects of the data / BI architecture, infrastructure, including administering the overall planning, coaching, and mentoring of the data / BI team members and clients, creating, and maintaining standards and best practices for data / BI provisioning. Providing high-level project management, maintaining client relationships, and successful delivery of BI Solutions.

This role acts as the Power BI Product Owner and is the subject matter expert within the organization and can liaise with technical staff, business stakeholder, product development team, and to ensure data and BI goals and objectives are met.

Lead the design, development, implementation and maintenance BI / data systems and solutions.
Manages the data architecture & BI team directly and oversees the solution implementation and governance. Coaches and develops team members
Coordinates activities to meet project deadlines and prioritizes conflicting client requests
Possesses a deep knowledge of the enterprise application system and database portfolio, including development technologies, application design strategies, access methods, naming standards, performance tuning, and integration strategies necessary to maintain information integrity, security, and physical storage requirements
Collaborate with business stakeholders to secure strong engagement for the solution and ensure that the delivery of the project aligns to longer-term strategic roadmaps
Work with IT teams, business analysts, project manager, and data analytics teams to understand data consumers’ needs and develop solutions
Responsible throughout the entire project lifecycle for the end-to-end solution of the BI solution and compliance with enterprise data model and logical data groups
Identify and communicate appropriate resource requirements and work breakdown structure based on skills profile and best fit to complete the end-to-end solution design, and work with the project manager to ensure that project plans and finances align with the design
Define and manage standards, guidelines, and processes to ensure data quality
Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies for data management, storage, and analytics
Model the future state of the data architecture and provide data architecture best practices and guidelines
Establish metrics for tracking and measuring the value of data architecture initiatives. For example, measuring model reuse, impact on project costs or improved data consistency across diverse initiatives.
Maximize value derived from data and analytics: Foster value creation using the organization's data assets, as well as the external data ecosystem. This includes aiding value creation through data exploitation, envisioning data-enabled strategies, as well as enabling all forms of business outcomes through analytics, data and analytics governance, and enterprise information policy.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

A ·Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or similar experience Experience in data warehousing, data modeling and/or data analysis and BI

Experience:

Experience with Microsoft Power BI and Data Warehousing
Experience with Microsoft DB technologies (Microsoft SQL, Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, etc.)
Ability to relate architectural decisions and recommendations to business needs
Experience with leading a BI Team and acting as the BI Product Owner
Experience developing reference architecture, principles, and standards
A minimum of seven years of experience in IT, with at least three years in data analytics system & architecture design.
In-depth experience of designing and implementing analytics and solutions.
Hands-on experience with implementing data and analytics management programs.
Three to five years' experience as a data analyst or DBA is highly desirable.
3+ years of experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations or Epicor 10 is preferred with general knowledge of typical ERP functions, reporting and analysis in a global orgainization
Prior experience in the Engineering design, and/or commercial industrial manufacturing industry is helpful.

KNOWLEDGE:

Entity Relationship modeling, metadata systems, data quality tools, data tools and techniques
Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Azure Data Landscape, Microsoft SQL, SQL Queries, SSMS, Azure SQL, Azure Analytics, ADF, etc.
Power BI, Power Query, M, Dax, SQL.
Experience with common ETL/ELT software applications.
Experience in data science concepts, as well as Master Data Management, business intelligence, and data warehouse design, implementation techniques, database development techniques, and database administration.
Conceptual, logical, and physical modeling, especially for rationalizing data objects.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and persuasion skills, including the ability to create marketing and messaging materials that meet stakeholder needs.
Ability to communicate across all levels of the organization and work with diverse project teams
Ability to analyze project, program, and portfolio needs, as well as determine the resources needed to achieve objectives and overcome cross-functional barriers
Ability to define the value of the data asset to the enterprise.
Good understanding of object-oriented software development (C#, Java) and integration patterns in consuming web services (SOAP, REST, OData, etc.).
Expected to carry out core accountabilities with minimal level of supervision for complex tasks and no supervision for more routine matters
