Full-Stack Engineer, CTO

Gateway Gigs is a social mobility platform to empower the skilled labor workforce: we will be the tool that changes the landscape of hiring in America. For the everyday person, getting hired is painstaking, and most of the time results in being ghosted, much less finding a job you actually are a good fit for.
Our company is changing that for both employers and job seekers by emphasizing transparency and authenticity, while increasing visibility into the hiring process. We’re still early in proving product-market fit but do have traction, funding, and experienced leadership including our lead investors — ATX Venture Partners.
We are seeking a founding engineer to join a fast-rising venture backed company bringing economic opportunity to the majority of people who want it!

Who you are:
You will be among our first few employees and will own the technology development architecture, work cycle, and the building and leading the initial development team. You should be a strategic thinker, an effective communicator and a capable technologist. You may have experience in leading teams building a technology product, but you definitely want that in your next role. Your past positions were in startup or ambiguous environments, and you’ve probably managed or led people before. You're comfortable working with MERN Stack, or have a voracious appetite to learn.

As an early engineer on the team, you'll have a lot of flexibility in shaping our software architecture, finding innovative solutions to complex problems, talking to customers and incorporating their feedback, and building the team and development lifecycle.

What you’ll do:
Build a maintainable and expandable replacement for our beta website that is serving users now. Serve as initial technical lead in product definition, design and execution. Work with experienced product officers to decide and execute on development timelines. Build the initial engineering department and establish development workflows and standard practices. Set a vision for how technology will be used in the company.

*Based in Dallas, Texas. We’re open to remote work, but being able to meet in person regularly is a huge plus.
