We have customer growth (in both B2C and B2B channels). We have meaningful revenue (hundreds of properties already as members) and growing market demand. We're raising our seed round as we speak. We have a strong sense of what our product will be, with key partners already in the fold. The further vision is to open our platform in the years ahead to other providers. The founding team has deep experience in creating fundamentally useful products and services that make people's lives better.
We are now bringing on Head of Engineering (or CTO if the fit is perfect) to our existing founding team. If this is you, then you will shape the technical vision of our platform and roll up your sleeves to help us bring to market a suite of products and services to enable the homeowner, technician, vendor and home manager experiences. We need your thought partnership, your insight, and your execution.

We are open to remote candidates, as want the best possible leader to join the team. That said, there will be bonus points for being within maybe 50-100 miles of Philadelphia or DC (where our team members are), so that we can spend at least a few days a month in person. If you already live in one of those places, sweet, we can dig in deeper, but this isn't a 9-to-5 in-office face-time kinda gig.

So, what does the role entail?

Performance Objectives

• Establish the product roadmap within 30 days
  • Partner with founding team to refine the product vision, prioritize the objectives, and and establish the product roadmap
  • Make architecture decisions to ensure a strong, stable, and scalable product
  • Institute sound, stage-appropriate processes as a foundation for successful development
• Design and develop core platform v1 within 6 months
  • Move forward with our tech stack development (AWS, HubSpot, Zendesk, Dispatch, Invoiced/Stripe, etc.)
  • Rapidly iterate and test first-version prototypes by collecting client feedback, interface with product and design teams
  • Led the integrations of partner API's to our platform
• Set up and implement 12 month tech team resource plan
  • Understand desired milestones for product and development, translate to an engineering hiring plan and budget
  • Lead recruiting efforts to get most positively impactful contributors possible (output, ROI, culture, etc.)
  • Work with engineering team to increase their expertise and understanding of best development practices
  • Managing in-house engineering team and/or contracted development partners
• Be a thought partner on the technology vision of the company
  • Co-create our longer-term platform aspirations
  • Ensure that we are building to delight and empower all users of our technology (customers, internal, third parties)
  • Discover and implement new technologies that yield competitive advantage
  • Drive performance, efficiency and effectiveness of engineering and product development team

• You have thrived in leadership roles at an early-stage tech start-up or similarly indicative situation, including oversight of the full range of development specialties
• You posses a strong sense of and ability to build human-centered, engaging customer products
• You have the ability to conduct technological analyses and research

• You have repeatedly demonstrated personal success in creating software architecture and building digital products from early-stage release through to scaled deployment
• You’ve managed, mentored, and inspired a small team of engineers providing architectural guidance, code reviews, etc.
