The Opportunity:

An exciting new opportunity to join the marketing team at HomeStars as a content writer. You will be tasked with creating content that will empower home service professionals in Canada to build their online presence and grow their businesses.
Build & execute a content strategy focused on creating original and useful resources for service professionals for all stages (whether brand new to HomeStars or have been with HS for years, make content meaningful & appealing for all)
Create unique content for emails and articles based on business requirements in collaboration with Email & Customer Success teams
Work closely with and support cross-functional teams to have a unified Brand voice/ tone across all written content - Product/UX, Customer success and Sales
Write Awareness driving email copy, landing pages, and articles for Pro Centre
Consistently produce a high level of content production - 500-700 words blogs, 3-5 articles a week (write, proofread and edit before publishing)Conduct simple keyword research and use SEO guidelines to increase web traffic
Develop and manage content planning calendar & reporting that will show the performance of the content marketing assets produced.
Your typical day at HomeStars:
You will apply your storytelling and research skills to write original resource articles, email copy, landing pages, white papers, sales collaterals and other written content as necessary for our contractor audience.
You will conduct research, analyze data, interview contractors and write about the benefits that HomeStars provides to service professionals across Canada.
You’ll also ensure a strong brand reputation is built & maintained across the ‘Pros’ by responding to all HomeStars reviews on Google, Playstore (Apply & Android) on a daily basis
This position is the ideal opportunity for someone who wants to be a part of a growing content marketing team and has a passion for creating quality, empowering resources that will help home service professionals.

Must-have Qualifications:

3-5 years in a similar role (content writer, copywriter), planning and writing content that converts.
Has a portfolio of published articles
Ability to analyze data to come up with original insights and content ideas.
Ability to build reporting on content marketing performance.
Comfortable interviewing members of the public and industry professionals.
Experience networking with media professionals.
Superior written communication skills and ability to create urgency and inspire actions.
You’re customer-focused and you thrive in a fast-paced team environment.
Deadline-driven with strong project management and organizational skills.
Able to adapt to write in company voice and inject company values into writing.
Proven ability to write content that converts, makes users take action and click through
Nice-to-have qualifications:
An instinct for identifying what kinds of new content people will love.
Educational background in journalism, PR, communications, marketing or related experience.
A sales background would be a plus.
You have experience working with a CMS and are a fast learner when it comes to using new platforms and software (SalesForce, WordPress, Coschedule).
Have a knack in data/reporting for content being written (Google Analytics, SEO understanding)You have an avid interest in content and SEO, and you keep up with industry news and trends.
