The Role

Austin based startup, Wrexx, seeks an experienced Hardware Engineer to assist development for an on-vehicle device for crash detection and reporting that pairs with users’ mobile phones and communicates via satellite.
Competencies

Fluent in C/C++ on embedded platforms. Interest in MicroPython/TinyGo a plus.
Delivering functionality from gathering requirements to CI and UAT
Practical experience with wired microcontroller protocols (I2P, I2C, SPI, USB, UART)
Familiar with tools for source revision control, project management, continuous integration
Inquisitive about new technology with a Maker attitude
Eager to work with a team and collaborate with colleagues and customers in a positive, professional, and effective manner
Help create scalable hardware/firmware processes for a growing company
Handles the integration of various radio technologies (e.g., Bluetooth, WiFi etc.) Responsibilites
Developing the firmware for Wrexx's microcontroller based on-vehicle hardware device for detecting and reporting crashes.
Provide feedback to senior hardware engineer and leadership to guide product design.
Integrating with a React Native app, satellite communication, and backend API.
