Software Engineering Manager

As our engineering team grows, we need to add leaders to it who love to be in the details of execution, helping engineers find their career bliss, making sure we ever optimize the way we work, and delivering powerfully to drive our business forward. Our next Product Engineering Manager will be working with an elite team of dedicated, engaged software professionals in a core role that will be pivotal to our success.

Lead the technical design of product features, collaborating with Product, Architecture, and your team to determine implementation details and non-functional requirements
Work with project managers and product owners to determine project scope and schedule and set delivery expectations
Work with your team to build product capabilities and solve customer issues
Develop and maintain a strong understanding of Greenlight Guru products, their operation, their underlying technologies, and their architecture and construction
Collaborate with your peer managers and the Director of Engineering on setting and improving engineering standards and practices
Participate in standard scrum ceremonies

Great-fit candidates will have:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a similar technical discipline, or equivalent work experience
At least two years of team leadership experience
At least five years of experience developing software in SaaS software development environments
Experience doing back end product development in a language like Java, especially if you have ORM experience, and/or experience doing front end product development in JavaScript
Experience with technologies such as Spring, GraphQL, Cassandra, Postgres, and Redis

We’ll be extra excited to talk to you if you have:

Experience as a team manager
Extensive experience with Java and/or Ember and Typescript
Experience transforming software products to a microservices architecture
Experience with the Healthcare Informatics or Medical Device industries
Experience in a regulated industry, particularly FDA or ISO (e.g. ISO 13485)
Experience managing off shore teams
