The Role

Who We Are
A grassroots movement providing free online tutoring to under-resourced elementary school students. We began the movement after seeing millions of students falling behind during the pandemic and knew we had to help. The long term effects of covid learning loss will be felt for years to come and we are at a crucial point to get them back on track.

Step Up Tutoring’s mission is to drive student success in under-resourced communities by providing free online tutoring and mentorship to 3rd - 6th grade students within the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD).

What will I be doing?
The ideal candidate is responsible for continuously maintaining the organization’s brand, internally and externally. This includes reviewing, updating, and maintaining the company’s content. This person will contribute to the planning and implementation of strategic marketing initiatives to support the mission and vision of Step Up Tutoring by expanding awareness, engaging the public, attracting new audiences, developing marketing, and generating leads in tutor recruitment, including owning email marketing campaigns.

Job Duties
Lead marketing team by providing written content for branded emails, and social media posts and campaigns.
Own content documents across all departments for relevancy, consistency, and brand compliance.
Plans and develops communications to support marketing objectives.
Devise and manage marketing initiatives, including traditional and digital media.
Perform marketing research to better identify target audiences and needs.
Utilize research findings to generate leads and maintain consistent reach, awareness, and opportunities for growth.

Requirements
4-year degree, preferably in Marketing, Communications, Advertising or related field.
Entry-level marketing experience with a minimum of 2-4 years in coordinating marketing campaigns
Self-starter who can work independently.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Keen eye for graphic design, attention to detail, and creativity.
Strong understanding of the various social media platforms and awareness of the current trends, best practices in digital marketing.

Part-time: 20 hours per week
