Senior JavaScript Engineer (Canada only)

LimeSpot is currently looking for someone to complement our expanding team of Senior Software Engineers, with a focus on frontend technologies. We are integrated into several thousand online stores around the world via our custom JavaScript library and reach hundreds of millions of shoppers every month enhancing their shopping experience.

As a senior frontend engineer, you’ll use latest web standards in HTML, CSS and JavaScript and collaborate closely with our engineering, product, sales and customer success teams to build incredible and responsive modules that scale and perform well on all devices and provide a world-class experience for our customers and their shoppers.

*Key Responsibilities: *

• Become an integral contributor to the frontend JavaScript SDK that runs on hundreds of millions of browsers worldwide
• Maintain and improve the existing SDK and add new features and modules
• Provide level-3 technical support to our customer success team
• Apply creative solutions and provide technical consulting to our sales team
• Add new integration with a growing list of partners
• Be part of - and potentially drive/own - some exciting big picture/big deal technical directions and organizational initiatives

*Requirements: *

• Experience with a broad range of web technologies and frameworks including modular JavaScript, HTML and CSS (5+ years)
• Highly proficient with modern web tooling including webpack and test frameworks
• Skilled in responsive design and what is still left of cross-browser compatibility
• Well versed in performance and speed optimization with Lighthouse
• Familiar with SEO concepts to ensure having the lowest SEO impact on customer online stores
• Being an advocate throughout the company for great UX.
• Providing highly effective code reviews and peer mentorship.
• Learning the latest frontend technologies and standards to ensure we are always using the best tools and techniques possible.
• Curiosity and passion to constantly learn new things; LimeSpot is changing fast, and we need the people who work here to be able to change and learn fast too.
• Authoring resilient code that conforms with accessibility requirements and follows progressive enhancement methodologies.
• Enjoyment of the company of other human beings from time to time
• Loving Git or other modern source control paradigms (we use Git + GitHub)
• Experience working in an Agile environment
• Well organized and self-motivated
• Must be a resident of Canada and be eligible to work in Canada

Some nice to haves (Seriously, they’re "nice to haves", not hard requirements!):

• Experience with TypeScript
• Experience with Angular, RxJS
• Experience with React
• Previous e-commerce domain experience
• Experience creating websites or user-facing components on Shopify or BigCommerce
• Familiarity with microservices architectures and distributed systems

• We currently welcome candidates throughout Canada. Our engineering team is predominantly located on the west coast so while we’re open to candidates in multiple time zones and will honor their working hours, individuals in other time zones will be expected to periodically be available PT hours.
