Senior Frontend Engineer (f/m/d)

We are looking for an ambitious Frontend Developer with a strong focus on usability to join our team. You will work in an interdisciplinary team developing sophisticated web applications around our analytical database. You will have the opportunity to completely rebuild our graphical database administration interface based on state-of-the-art technologies. You will work in close collaboration with colleagues and experts from different departments, including web developers and designers from our marketing team, software developers and operation engineers. The simplicity of the Exasol database is one of the main reasons why our users love our product, and in this role, you will take over responsibility to establish and improve the simplicity in our existing and emerging web frontends.

Key Responsibilities:

• You will develop responsive and interactive web applications mainly based on the JavaScript framework Angular, from architecture to implementation
• You have the ability to moderate the whole iterative and incremental process of designing, implementing, reviewing and improving complex web applications like our database administration frontend
• You will apply a user experience design process, including the creation of wireframes, mockups and methods of your choice, always aiming for the most ideal user experience and simplicity
• You will create web applications serving a wide range of purposes like data visualization (e.g. database status and monitoring trends), simplifying recurring tasks with wizards or configuration screens for advanced users
• You can expect to have direct access to the actual users (operations team in case of database administration frontend) and fast feedback cycles Your Profile:
• You have demonstrated that you are able to create sophisticated websites or web applications that simplify the user experience (please provide examples from your past)
• You have extensive know how and interest in UX and simplicity of user interfaces
• You are familiar with a user experience design process
• You have strong understanding of frontend technologies, such as JavaScript, CSS3, jQuery, W3C standards and HTML5
• You have very good knowledge of Angular, React, Vue.js, Ember.js or similar frameworks, and able to create complex web applications from scratch using these frameworks
• You have experience with the development of responsive websites or web applications, and knowledge of related CSS frameworks like Bootstrap
• You are comfortable working with debugging tools like Firebug, Chrome inspector, etc.
• You have very good English speaking and writing skills
• You preferably have experience with systems comparable to our Exasol database
