HVAC Service Tech/Installer

Experience:

Our ideal candidates have hands-on experience with both HVAC/R equipment and plants. We believe in building the best products for our customers and it's helpful to be able to understand the growers needs. We have both, install and service-based positions, but both departments are expected to help the other. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for performing installs, repairs and/or maintenance to a variety of equipment including but not limited to: refrigeration, air conditioning, dehumidifiers, walk ins coolers, heat pumps, commercial HVAC/R equipment, intake and exhaust fans, economizers, humidifiers, thermostats, controls, etc. throughout the Denver metro area.

• Perform Preventive Maintenance of HVAC Systems
• Operates hand and power tools, equipment, company vehicles, scissor/ bucket lifts and/or other heavy equipment as needed.
• Troubleshoot, repair and make modifications to Commercial HVAC equipment
• Order and maintain parts needed to repair, install and maintain HVAC Equipment
• New equipment installs, startups, and change outs.
• Accurately communicate and discuss work performed/problems with customers and internal management.
• Works in the cultivation facilities, offices and stores to repair and maintain the facilities and assist other trades.

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

• Understands the refrigeration cycles including understanding how each component works, diagnosing and correcting problems in the refrigeration circuit, using probe gauge sets, pressure/temperature charts and temperature measuring devices for routine maintenance and to troubleshoot.
• Understands refrigeration recovery, evacuation and charging, understands the installation and sizing of refrigerant piping
• Understands basic electrical theory, how electricity travels, AC and DC currents, single phase and three phase circuits, series and parallel circuits, and the ability to read wiring diagrams.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
• Must have or be able to obtain an EPA Universal Certification within 3 months
• Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a State of Colorado MED badge
• Must have a clean driving record
• Must possess a minimum set of hand tools as required of trade.
• Must be able to work under minimum supervision and be capable of directing others in assigned duties
• Applicants must be at least 21 years old
• Ideal candidates have 5+ years of HVACR experience
• Ideal candidates possess strong verbal and written communication skills

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
• Ability to lift and/or carry moderate weight (15-50 pounds), work on ladders, sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, reach, repetitive hand motions, hear, speak, some travel within the Denver metro area and occasionally outside the district, may experience prolonged and irregular work hours including potential weekends, and work with frequent interruptions
