Job Title: Junior Developer (Research based Security, Privacy and Encryption focussed)

Duration: 6 Months (Fixed Term Contract) initially

Salary: Annual FTE salary of £27,500-£31,000 (depending on experience).

Location: Must be based in the UK

MindHug is an early-stage mental wellbeing start-up supported and incubated by UCL Innovation
and Enterprise.

We believe that mental health is an important and often overlooked aspect of overall health. We envision creating a platform for people to have more choice in activities and better ownership over their mental health and wellbeing. Therapies include art therapy, music therapy, meditation, animal-
assisted therapy, etc. We want to offer greater choice, credibility and engagement as well as provide the tools and data to help individuals find what works best for them.

Where are we
We are part of the Hatchery, UCL’s incubator program and work at their co-working space, BaseKX -set in vibrant and innovation-friendly Kings Cross, moments away from Regents Canal, Granary Square and Google. The Hatchery is a programme designed to support the most promising entrepreneurs and startups.

The Role

An opportunity to accelerate your career being a part of Digital Security by Design innovation drive and prototype development.

This role is ideal for someone looking to be a part of next generation state-of-art development on CHERI platform, though we would welcome applications from recent graduates who have C++ and kernel experience gained from prior internships or commercial placements.

The ideal candidate

Requirements:

• Sound C/C++ experience • Good Linux knowledge including low level (Daemon, Kernel)
• Good understanding of what's happening at low level including Networking and Operating Systems
• OpenSSH, PostgreSQL
• Desire to learn and innovate
• Security Fundamentals (background in Security Engineering preferred, not ideal)

The following skills and attributes are a plus:
• Working knowledge of Python
• Android Stack
• An interest in software security and the techniques used by malware and hackers
• Understanding and experience of virtualization
