Acre is rebuilding the UK’s £1.4 trillion mortgage market from the ground up, with a completely new, end-to-end management system for mortgages.
Our platform cuts out the unnecessary admin, pain and friction from buying a home. We're covering the entire journey, from figuring out what you can borrow, to getting your keys. We're guided both by the voice of real home buyers and by our close relationships with brokers, lenders and insurers, through our exclusive broker distribution agreement representing over £40 billion in mortgage lending each year. We won’t stop until the process of buying, mortgaging, conveyancing, and insuring your home is affordable and completely seamless.
Join our engineering team to help change the way people buy homes.
The role:
We are looking for a Site Reliability and Security Engineer that wants to help ensure our platform is always available and secure. Your role will be to work closely with the CTO and the broader team to help ensure our CI pipeline is smooth, efficient and ensures quality; our production environment is performant, stable and secure; and we have an exceptional degree of insight and transparency into our operational environment.
You approach to the role should be that no task is done twice.
You will be highly motivated, be technology agnostic, and be passionate and proud of the work you produce. You be highly conscientious and have experience of how to minimize operational, security and performance risk.
What you’ll be doing:
As a key member of the engineering team you will be responsible for the design, implementation and testing of non-functional aspects of our platform such as security, performance and scaling that delivers our product to users, keeps it secure and helps us understand its performance in the real world.
During our software development life cycle, you will be expected to work with the frontend and backend engineering teams to ensure they are able to efficiently deliver software while meeting our software quality and security benchmarks.
You'll also work closely with the CTO, to ensure we are able to meet our regulatory and broader audit requirements, ensuring in particular we are able to evidence our operational and development processes without extensive manual overhead.
Who you will be:
- Passionate about software engineering and about delivering a quality product.
- Have an experience with a range of infrastructure tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform & Ansible.
- Have an understanding of information security principles, particular with respect to environment hardening.
- An understanding of implementing monitoring and logging for security, operational and application performance management.
- Experience managing a CI pipeline and helping enable quality software delivery.
What we offer:
- An opportunity to join a world-class team at a fully funded startup.
- Competitive compensation package relative to experience.
- A chance to make an impact with Fintech in a unique position to make a difference to the mortgage market
- 25 days leave as standard.
- Vibrant office (although empty now!) in Central London with excellent coffee, snacks, and open happy hour
- Private healthcare, 4% pension contribution matching with no limits, and cycle to work scheme.
- See our careers page for more of what we offer.
We’re looking for people that will get stuck in and make a difference. We have a great collaborative, entrepreneurial team that are passionate about what they do. If you want to join a team that is changing people’s lives for the better, then we’d love to hear from you.
