Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Location

Flexible with preference for candidates within commutable distance of a Learning Pool UK office location (Derry, Belfast, Oxford, Glasgow, Nottingham)

What you will be doing

Roles and responsibilities include:

Work closely with the development and QA team to implement development pipelines and CI/CD.

Research/test/recommend the right cloud products and services for new and existing solutions

Managing existing Infrastructure and services on AWS

Build secure, highly available and scalable cloud solutions on AWS

review and improve existing processes automate where possible

Mentoring of junior staff.

Assist in the administration of Gsuite, Salesforce CRM and our cloud VOIP solution among others

Manage OS, DB and application upgrades

Participate in the on-call rota

Who we are looking for

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

Achievement of a third level qualification in Computer Science or similar field

Significant experience (5 years plus) in sysadmin, Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, SRE role or similar

Experience working with AWS building and architecting secure, highly available and scalable solutions

Experience Implementing CI/CD and Infrastructure as code

Experience with monitoring tools, datadog, newrelic, cloudwatch or similar

Linux admin skills i.e ubuntu, centos or redhat

A history for automating tasks (scripting) and improving processes

DB administration - MySQL, NoSQL

Knowledge of SSO - SAML2, OAuth is desirable

Highly motivated, results-oriented, with a focus on quality

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Ability to communicate well both within and outside the technical team, and comfortable dealing with everyone from front-line support to members of the senior executive team
