This is a temp-to-hire position. The temp period (~2-3 months) is a part-time position for equity-only. Thereafter, the position is full-time for equity+pay.

OppJar (short for "Opportunity Jar") was founded by classmates from MIT, Harvard, and UC Berkeley because too many kids are entering adulthood with little to no savings. Unlike other solutions that require parents to raise money on their own, OppJar is an app that prioritizes connecting your child to friends and family.
Imagine, what if you could make an Instagram for your newborn baby? A parent-managed account where you could share pictures and where your child’s account is followed by a hundred or so of your closest friends and family. Now, what if that Instagram also included a savings account where those followers could Venmo your child money on birthdays and holidays. That’s what OppJar provides. And when your child turns 18, they can open their OppJar where they have 18-years worth of memories and 18-years worth of savings. Photos and messages left by those closest to your child over those 18 years. Also funds that accumulate over those 18 years, which are invested and grow with compound interest.
Scope of Responsibilities
New customer acquisition by executing online tactics and strategies
Search engine marketing
SEO/Optimizing organic search results
Online advertising
Social media (influencers, identification of target user groups, targeted ads)
Email Marketing
Manage marketing budget
Track and optimize the customer conversion funnel
Customer retention and maximization of LTV
Content creation and placement (for website, social and professional media channels) to build brand awareness and trust
Customer communications via email and social media
Management of external agency partners necessary to execute marketing plans (creative, PR, web and app developers)
Ensure consistent messaging and look and feel across multiple platforms and products
Reporting of KPI metrics to executive team
Experience Base
Significant and practical experience with online marketing, ideally (but not necessarily) apps in the Fintech and/or Social Media space
Relevant experience in developing customer acquisition, retention, and cross-sell/up-sell direct marketing efforts
Experience in developing KPIs and tracking marketing campaigns against those KPIs
Experience in managing external agencies, including experience in guiding creative teams
Experience in developing a budget and managing efforts against the budget
