The Role

Morpheus Data is a rapidly expanding Denver based enterprise software company focused on multi-cloud management and DevOps workflow orchestration. Our mission is to help customers achieve their full potential and realize the dream of self-service automation for any app across any cloud or platform – on-premises or public clouds. To support our growing list of integrations, we are looking for a Support Technician I to assist our customers when working with Morpheus.

A candidate for this position should be detailed orientated and possess the ability to work effectively remotely with co-workers in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. A practical understanding of cloud computing and virtual computing technologies is helpful for effective communication with customers. Knowledge of commonly used support tools, practices, and procedures, as well as excellent customer service, is required. A high level of proficiency with web-based live communication tools, instant messaging, and group collaboration is needed.

Primary job responsibilities
• Provide timely response to customer cases using remote support methods.
• Guide customers on solving their cases, suggesting better methods, and communicating best practices.
• Ability to prioritize incoming cases based on customer entitlements, time case, is open, and urgency of customer impact.
• Collect troubleshooting data required to escalate the case to a higher tier.
• Ability to communicate technical instructions to customers, with no direct access to customer’s systems or network.

Qualifications:
You’ll need these to survive:
• Five or more years of work experience.
• Two or more years of relevant work experience in a helpdesk system administration, or a technical support role.
• Four or more years of Linux and Windows server administration experience.
• Networking troubleshooting skills including IPv4, load balancers, and proxies.
• Knowledge of user accounting, file system permissions, automated installation techniques, patching/upgrading scenarios, and reading operating system/application logs for troubleshooting.
• SQL DML and DDL knowledge including foreign key constraints. Understanding of database recovery processes.
• Understanding of leader/follower election schemes and how to recover failed clusters for messaging platforms like RabbitMQ.
• Understanding of replication topologies for database clusters, clustered file systems, and distributed locking mechanisms in applications.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, using different communication and collaboration tools like phone, text, email, chat, and web conferencing tools.
• Ability to problem solve under pressure and create new exciting solutions.

• Practical remote work time management skills.
• Desire to learn on your own and build your own set of tools to become a highly proficient team member.
• Troubleshooting of microservices architectures like databases, message queues, indexing, and Java applications.
• Troubleshooting and administering on-premises hypervisor technologies like VMware vSphere, OpenStack, or KVM.
• Troubleshooting and administering cloud architectures and services like Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.

US DOD security clearance not required but desired.

The ideal candidate will be located in Denver, although other locations considered based on the strength of matching job requirements.
