The role
The Business Development Manager role is a key hire for Nitrous and will be directly attributable to the growth of our business. You will often be the first point of contact for new clients and external organisations, acting with a high level of professionalism throughout. You will be responsible for the whole sales funnel, from mapping out the marketplace, liaising with marketing, generating new opportunities through to converting opportunities into customers. You will wear many hats depending on what action is required to generate and convert new business in the commercialisation of our SaaS products. We’re looking for someone who can take initiative and is keen to continually learn in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
As a Business Development Manager, you will use your skills to:
- Lead the execution of agreed go-to-market plans with support from leadership
- Mapping the market and identifying the different types of stakeholders and their challenges
- Generating new qualified leads through targeted outreach
- Working with the wider team to implement proven, scalable outreach solutions and strategies
- Identify new public tender opportunities and lead the response, with support from Nitrous leadership
- Create and maintain a network of high-value prospects for the Nitrous team to work with on a regular basis
- Be the first point of contact for new business prospects and determine the next steps for each prospect moving forward
- Taking initiative and think creatively about new innovative lead generation ideas and sharing with the team
You will:
- Have strong communication skills, both written and oral
- Have ~3 experience working with large corporate organisations either working for one or selling to them as a startup
- Understand SaaS products and knowledge of how it can be sold
- Have a passion for business development and eager to learn in a hands-on commercial role
- Demonstrated ability to work solo as well as being a productive team member, sending outbound messages every day
- Working knowledge of LinkedIn and how to find and qualify people based on target customer profiles
- Quickly learn how tenders work and develop your ability to find, review and qualify a public tender opportunity
- Be design-oriented and able to put together impactful presentations that align with the Nitrous brand
- Have experience working in a high-pressure environment
