Who We're Looking For

The Head of Engineering will serve as the engineering leader for the business, overseeing all technical aspects of MAKA. This person is responsible for co-creating & defining our technology vision, recruiting and retaining engineering talent, and directing our engineering organization as they ship world-class products. This role is perfect for a well-rounded & experienced engineering leader who cares deeply about establishing & scaling a world-class team and culture.

Your qualifications

• 8+ years software engineering experience with 3+ years of software engineering management experience
• Experience attracting, hiring and leading top talent - you have managed and scaled a top-tier engineering team (or led a smaller team, and are now ready for the next step)
• Ability to balance across business needs, development for key products, and shipping of high quality solutions
• Experience building consumer-facing mobile apps at scale, including release management, observability, and performance
• Bonus: Experience with video, e-commerce or social

What you'll do

• Hire, lead and scale our Engineering organization.
• Establish a healthy engineering team culture. You & your early team will define the engineering team's culture including how we design, build, test, and ship products.
• Lead the engineering team to drive the development of products in a fast-paced, start-up environment
• Work cross functionally with design & product to drive the vision and strategy
• Provide technical leadership to the engineering organization including leading decision-making for key technology & architecture choices
