The Scrum Master is responsible for the agile team coaching, takes on a team leadership role and helps with administrative tasks to make agile development possible

The Scrum Master is responsible for the agile team coaching, takes on a team leadership role and helps with administrative tasks to make agile development possible. The main responsibilities are: helping the team remove impediments, facilitator between the team and the product owner, supporting the team to live by the values and practices of agile software development.

Responsibilities:

1. Coaching team members / mediating through conflicts
2. Motivate and support the team by answering general questions and providing guidance as an expert on Agile best practices
3. Involved in customer meetings involving scrum activities or sprint planning
4. Participating in reports to management and product owner, either directly or by assisting the team
5. Identify potential issues or delays in the completion of work.
6. Facilitate meetings for the team (preparation, moderation, postprocessing). Meetings include Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews and Retrospectives.
7. Running daily scrum meetings for scrum team
8. Assist the product owner with keeping the backlog groomed
9. Maintain relevant sprint team metrics that help the team see how they are doing.
10. Perform tasks related to securing and keeping the products, tools, and processes that you are responsible for securing.
11. Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised with an emphasis on problem solving.
12. Create a culture of collaboration, facilitating discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution.
13. Follow the implementation/delivery of stories closely
14. Identify and involve internal/external team members or stakeholders as required to help clear roadblocks, and/or to identify potential alternative solutions (in collaboration with the team members)
15. Document and recommend methodology improvement changes for increased efficiency and re-use in subsequent Sprints.

Required Skills:

1. Contemporary Agile (Scrum/Kanban/LEAN) Methodology experience
2. Experience in conducting various Agile ceremonies – Daily Scrum meetings, Sprint Planning, Sprint retrospectives & Sprint Reviews/Demos
3. Excellent communication skills - written and verbal (English & Mandarin)
4. Demonstrable experience in managing a development team in an Agile environment
5. Extensive agile experience, preferably using Scrum to deliver applications
6. Experience in managing change effectively
7. Guiding of a self-organized team to deliver ongoing improvements
8. Strong, multi-level stakeholder and relationship management skills

Preferred Skills:

1. Desirable experience related to Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery and/or DevOps
2. Experience using JIRA and Confluence
3. Strong stake holder management, negotiating, influencing and conflict resolution skills.
4. Background in software development or experience working within software development environments dealing with engineers and software projects.
5. Basic knowledge of speech recognition
6. Experience as a Scrum Master delivering solutions in an Agile environment
