About the business

JoyResolve is a premium lifestyle and homeware brand. We started out 5 years ago with a calling to make timeless technology products with style.

Our first product the Barisieur Coffee; Tea brewing alarm clock (joyresolve.com), has been voted coolest product of the year by Financial Times, GQ, Vogue, Forbes, Elle and many more.

You might have seen our Kickstarter/ Indiegogo in 2016 which was voted Kickstarter project of the year and raised the second highest amount in the UK ($800,000).

Since then we have sold over 10000 Barisieurs to over 52 countries and are now selling in over 30 premium retail stores including the likes of Harrods, Selfridges, Conran Store, Bloomingdales (New York), Neiman Marcus (New York), Le Bon Marche (Paris), KaDeWe (Berlin), Kapok (Hong Kong) etc - see here.

This year has been a big year for us having launched a brand new product line (see link here) allowing us to make the jump from a one-product start up to a multi-product design brand with a global reach. Despite Covid-19 we have been growing 2x overall including website sales and our retail sales have increased 4x from last year with little to no outbound sales happening at the business and everything coming in through inbound leads.

We want to continue the momentum and success we have had which is why we we need you!

About the role

  • Reporting to Co-Founder & COO Markus you will be in charge of generating leads, attending sales calls and ultimately work with us to close deals to generate revenue for the business
  • Initially this will be a junior inside sales role but the goal is to upskill you as fast as possible so that you can own the entire sales process from lead generation, to having meetings and closing deals
  • There is a lot of scope for this to grow into a management role as we look to build a sales team next to you and grow the business further
  • Salary and compensation competitive + generous commission package .

Key Responsibilities

  • Stage 1: Generate leads by messaging retailers and distributors who might want to stock our products and convert these into new business meetings.
  • Stage 2: Attend new business meetings with cofounders, learn how to sell the products, start negotiating contracts and margins with retailers
  • Stage 3: Learn how to close opportunities and work towards your monthly and yearly targets/ Kpis
  • Stage 4: Write invoices and chase up on payments
  • Organise opportunities in Salesforce (our CRM system), follow up on deals and meetings, keep in touch with clients
  • Account manage larger retailers and try to increase sales volume per client, understand their challenges and objectives to see how we can help them achieve their goals
  • Identify new markets and opportunities for the business
  • Attend trade fairs and present the business around the world including CES in Las Vegas, IFA in Berlin, Viva Technology in Paris and many more.
  • Communicate directly with our retail partners, and be in control of the on-boarding process

Key skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Having the gift of the gab helps, but you’ll make real progress if you can clearly communicate with a client.
  • High level of organisation – sales is all about being in the right spot at the right time! Following up is crucial.
  • Positive mindset and tenacity – getting rejected is part and parcel of the job. But the key is to get back up and don’t let it keep you down, the next opportunity is always just around the corner.
  • High level of enthusiasm, creativity and problem solving skills
  • Empathy and willingness to understand client problems is a must
  • High level of intelligence and an analytical mindset in order to understand and memorise the technical features of the product.
  • Previous experience in the retail industry would be great but if not it’s not a big deal, as long as you’re eager to learn.

Benefits

  • Fast paced start-up environment with free coffee & biscuits.

  • Be flexible and work from home
