The Role
SKR Audio Labs is bringing a true SaaS model to audio production, and we are looking for someone who can help make our prototype more robust. This position is for a Cloud Services Architect who can take our platform development from prototype to full fruition. Our use case is a rare case of realtime Win64 applications on remote cloud hosts with live active connections to client devices. We need somebody who is totally comfortable building out and/or providing guidance on building an entire service platform from scratch.

As we are not yet funded, those of us on the team currently are not full-time nor do we demand full-time commitment from applicants. We are not paid to do what we are doing so far, nor can we afford to pay you. This is a passion project, and all we ask is that candidates be as invested in our mission as we are. The goal is to get to funding where we can make this all of our full-time jobs and fully commit to a future with democratized access to music production tools. Candidate may work remotely. We cannot offer any meaningful quantities of money at this stage. We are believers, however, in a profit sharing for all team members, which is something that could be available to you should you choose to stay onboard long term.
Requirements:
- Comfortable working on AWS, though GCP/Azure are acceptable as well
- Knowledge of working with Windows Server VM instances
- Understanding of secure authentication solutions
- Ability to script a custom load balancer that can enable multi-tenancy for real-time applications
- Can think about collecting metrics that will enable us to maximize cost-efficiency and scalability while maintaining quality of service.
- Must be willing to accept the realities of a new startup in bootstrap stage
- Can also provide guidance and insights for other developers on the team to adapt to the architectural needs of the platform. (e.g. change of API layer, restructuring queries, etc.)
Pluses:
- API design and mechanisms for accessing data, authentication, database queries, etc. from within frontend and/or host application.
- Familiarity with architecting from scratch on baremetal
- Understanding of the core IT requirements of building datacenters should we ever scale to that extent
What's more:
- Opportunity to be part of the core team in a small startup of highly motivated individuals who are seeking to make the revolution that the music industry really needs.
- If you think you have what it takes, we'd love to hear from you!
