Senior Product Designer (*2-3 month contract+)

SpacesShared seeks to alleviate two critical challenges facing Canadians – older adults' ability to age in their own homes and remain connected to their communities, and students' ability to access safe and affordable housing near the campuses that they attend.

Through intuitive technology, scheduled check-ins, and dedicated human support, we are committed to building, sustaining, and supporting intergenerational home-sharing. 🤳 The role

We're looking for a Senior Product designer to join us for a 2-3 month contract (*could lead to longer term opportunity) and to help us push affordable housing forward. You'll be responsible for researching and designing the core UI/UX on our web and mobile platform, you'll work closely with our product team consiting of our CPO, Founding Engineer, and Senior Software Engineer.

📱 What you'll be doing

• You will be part of a ground up build, researching and designing our landing pages, and app
• You will work with our product team to turn ideas into designs we can test, build, launch, and scale
• Design, and develop our design system to ensure ease of use internally and consistency and a first class UX externally
• You will always be looking to improve our product and user experience as we go

🎨 What we're looking for

• 5+ years of experience in UI/UX design
• Excitement around working at an early-stage startup even though short-term
• A stellar portfolio showcasing your knack for crafting intuitive and engaging digital products
• Experience building quality design systems or enthusiasm to do so
• Experience and high-level of comfort in Figma including prototyping
• Desire to delight users, and build beautiful user flows with a product-orientated mindset
• Passion for user testing and research
• Remote okay, EST preferred, bonus if living in Toronto or nearby (we may do an occasioanl in-person session if you live in Toronto and it is convenient)
