What We're Looking For

Cross River’s Risk team is looking for a strong ERM Risk Manager to join the team and support our robust enterprise risk program. This candidate must be self-motivated, results driven, and can work across different teams to support daily risk activities.

The Enterprise Risk Manager is a key contributor to various enterprise risk management program components including Risk Committee and Board Reporting, Risk Appetite, Policy & Governance, Issues Management, and Exam Management.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in establishing and maintaining the risk appetite statement for the organization and ensure alignment with business objectives
  • Monitor and analyze key risk indicators to identify root causes, trends, and partner with business partners in identifying mitigation plans
  • Lead the coordination in the preparation of risk-related materials and reports for committee and board meetings, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and best practices
  • Partner with business units and stakeholders to enhance the product risk framework, ensuring effective risk assessment and mitigation throughout the product lifecycle

  • Conduct risk assessments where applicable to identify potential risks and evaluate the likelihood and impact of each risk

  • Develop and maintain enhanced reporting capabilities across ERM programs; leveraging Global GRC (Governance, Risk, & Compliance) and other tools to design suite of effective risk reporting to drive escalation and decisioning

  • Provide audit and exam management support to the enterprise risk function

  • Contribute to the continued development and implementation of risk policies and procedure governance frameworks

  • Track and monitor enterprise risk sponsored initiatives to ensure delivery is on time and without issues

  • Expand enterprise risk training framework through the development and maintenance of standardized training materials aligned to risk taxonomy and risk management policies and procedures

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS Degree
  • 5+ years' experience in risk management at a bank, credit union or a fintech institution
  • Strong understanding of risk management frameworks, methodologies, and regulatory requirements
  • Experience in Enterprise or Operational Risk frameworks and disciplines
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills with ability to effectively communicate complex risk information to stakeholders at all levels
  • Knowledge of Policy and Procedure writing
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Exceptional collaboration skills and a desire to work as part of a high-performance team
  • Familiarity in creating training materials
  • Demonstrated project management experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Results oriented, ability to meet deadlines and meet competing deadlines
  • Integrity, ability to work independently, and strong problem-solving skills
