The Role

540 is looking for a Senior Solutions Architect to help our government customers migrate their workloads into Google Cloud Platform (GCP). As a member of the team, you will work to lay the foundations for dozens of customers each year. This will include working with the customer to assess cloud requirements (e.g. Networking, Security, and Compliance) and design a solution to be implemented by the team.

Location: Primarily remote within the continental United States with occasional travel (up to 25% expected). East Coast hours with some flexibility

Citizenship & Clearance Requirement: per client requirements, must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a clearance

Education Requirement: Bachelor’s Degree (Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field is preferred)

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • 6+ years of related technical experience
  • 3+ years of experience as a Solutions Architect or Systems Engineer
  • Understanding of core principles of cloud architectures
  • Experience designing solutions in Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Currently possesses Google Professional Cloud Architect certification, or has the ability to obtain within 2 months of employment
  • Experience documenting and summarizing system architectures for consumption by business, technical, and functional stakeholders
  • Self-starter with proven ability to learn quickly and “become an expert” on something that you don’t have previous knowledge/experience on
  • Ability to corral, define and document technical requirements for developer implementation
  • Ability to digest complex third-party documentation quickly
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently (as if on an island) with clients, but also be a consummate team player

NICE TO HAVE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Experience designing compliant solutions (e.g. PII, HIPAA, CMMC, DoD IL4+)
  • Experience with Agile projects and development
  • Experience (or certifications) with other major commercial cloud providers (i.e. AWS, Azure, etc)
  • Experience with securing sensitive data (including security marking standards such as DoD Banner Lines or ISM)
  • Ability to rapidly code proof of concepts to help with analysis of alternatives (should be a person who can code in mixed environments) and prove out ideas
  • Experience deploying applications in the DoD or other accredited federal environments that require IA certification and accreditation to deploy
