Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Web Developer with expertise in Django and Next.js to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in developing and enhancing icubefarm.com, ensuring it meets the evolving needs of job seekers, employers, and partners across Africa. The ideal candidate will be passionate about building scalable, secure, and user-friendly web applications that drive meaningful impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and optimization of icubefarm.com using Django and Next.js, focusing on performance, scalability, and security.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, product management, and quality assurance, to define and implement innovative solutions for the platform.
• Design and implement robust backend services and APIs to support web functionalities and integrate with external services.
• Develop and maintain highly responsive user interface components using Next.js and modern JavaScript libraries and frameworks.
• Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs and optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
• Spearhead the adoption of best practices in code quality, documentation, and testing, including unit and integration tests.
• Participate in code reviews, mentoring junior developers, and sharing knowledge to foster a collaborative and learning environment.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and propose their adoption where beneficial to the platform's goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in web development, with a strong focus on Django and Next.js.
• Proficiency in front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES6+), as well as frameworks/libraries such as React.
• Experience with RESTful API design and development, and knowledge of web security practices.
• Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure) and Docker.
• Strong understanding of database technologies, both relational (e.g., PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB).
• Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to work independently, and manage multiple projects with tight deadlines.
• Fluent in English, with strong communication and collaboration skills.
