Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer with a strong background in geolocation, mapping, and location technology. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust and scalable data infrastructure to support our geospatial applications and services. The Senior Data Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the efficient and effective processing of geospatial data, enabling the delivery of high-performance location-based solutions.
Job Description and Responsibilities:
- Design and implement scalable and efficient data architectures for geospatial data processing.
- Develop and maintain data models to support geolocation and mapping requirements.
- Implement ETL processes to ingest, transform, and load geospatial data from various sources.
- Integrate third-party geolocation and mapping services into our data infrastructure.
- Optimize data processing pipelines for performance, ensuring timely and accurate geospatial data delivery.
- Conduct performance tuning and troubleshooting of data infrastructure components.
- Establish and enforce data quality standards for geospatial datasets.
- Implement data governance practices to ensure the integrity and security of location-based data.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software developers, data scientists, and product managers, to understand data requirements.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to convey complex geospatial concepts and technical solutions.
- Perform any other tasks when assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Proven experience of 5+ years in data engineering with a focus on geolocation, mapping, or location technology.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or any other related tools.
- Strong expertise in designing and optimizing data processing pipelines.
- Experience with geospatial databases (e.g., PostGIS, MongoDB) and geospatial data formats (e.g., GeoJSON, Shapefile).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Fluently in English (speaking, reading, and writing).
- Able to work within the EU time zone.
