Tech Role - Full Stack Engineer for a Latin American web-app

Job Description:

UBIKATE, a leading Latin American platform designed to connect and reunite Latinos living abroad, is seeking a talented Full Stack Developer with expertise in Express.js, React.js, and Node.js. As a Full Stack Developer at UBIKATE, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining our platform, leveraging the MERN (MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, Node.js) tech stack. You will play a crucial role in shaping the user experience and building robust and scalable applications.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the development team to design and implement new features and enhancements for the UBIKATE platform.
• Develop efficient and reusable code using modern web development techniques.
• Build and maintain the front-end using HTML, CSS, and React.js, ensuring a seamless and intuitive user interface.
• Implement server-side logic using Node.js and Express.js, ensuring high performance and responsiveness.
• Integrate external APIs, particularly the Google Maps API, to provide location-based services and features.
• Work closely with the product team to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues across the entire stack, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of front-end and back-end components.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry best practices, continuously improving development processes.

Requirements:

• Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, and React.js, with a solid understanding of front-end development principles.
• Proficient in Node.js and Express.js, with hands-on experience in building RESTful APIs and server-side applications.
• Competent knowledge of the MERN (MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, Node.js) tech stack.
• Experience integrating external APIs, particularly the Google Maps API or similar geolocation services.
• Familiarity with MongoDB and database design principles, preferably experience with MongoDB Atlas.
• Good understanding of code versioning tools such as Git, and experience with collaborative development workflows.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

Mindset:

• Fluent in English and Spanish. Proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
• Demonstrated understanding of Latin American culture, community dynamics, and social media platforms.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and build relationships with diverse individuals.
• Proven ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and achieve targets.
• Familiarity with Google Maps API integration or similar platforms is a plus.
• Passionate about empowering and connecting Latin Americans living abroad.
• Entrepreneurial mindset and ambition to become an owner of the Latin American platform abroad.

Location: Remote Remote in United Kingdom or Europe
