Agile Coach
Plaster Group LLC is a business management consulting firm located in Seattle. We are currently looking to expand our team of Agile consultants. The ideal candidate will have strengths in organizational development, cultural change, conflict management, and both individual and team coaching. The Agile Coach may work as a Scrum Master or in other capacities when there is downtime or between Agile Coaching engagements.
Responsibilities / Activities
- Train team members on Agile process and methodologies. Provide objective guidance free of personal or political bias
- Understand goals of project, create Agile development strategy, assist in developing project planning and strategy
- Coach and mentor team on Agile process to improve understanding and efficiency. Answer questions that may arise
- Improve delivery team effectiveness through analysis, teaching, facilitation, and impediment removal
- Provide strong mentorship: focus on team members and continuous improvement. Create an environment that allows for meaningful collaboration
- Assess agile maturity of teams and coach to higher level of maturity at a sustainable pace
- Communicate with stakeholders to address Agile knowledge gaps and support agile effectiveness
- Identify and mitigate project risks
- Help product owner write user stories as needed
- Assist teams in estimating user stories
- Assist Scrum Master with preplanning, planning, daily Scrum, and retrospectives
Desired Skills / Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business administration, or equivalent experience
- Past experience implementing Agile techniques in different cultures and environments
- Has successfully run Agile projects of varying size and complexities
- Agile Coaching certification
- Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and transparency
- Knowledge of numerous well-documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in Agile.
- Knowledge of different Agile approaches (XP, Kanban, Crystal, FDD, etc.)
- Knowledge and experience with widely successful Agile techniques (User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games)
