Job Summary:

As the Privacy Manager, you will ensure that Chamberlain Group handles data responsibly and in compliance with applicable privacy laws and regulations. You will work collaboratively across multiple teams, business units, and jurisdictions to help coordinate the Privacy compliance framework. The Privacy Manager will support Chamberlain Group’s Director of Global Privacy and Corporate Compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, law, cybersecurity, information systems, engineering, data science, or related field of study
  • One or more privacy certifications (CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPT, or CIPM)
  • 3-5 years of experience in the field of privacy, data governance, or consulting with a focus on comprehensive privacy program management
  • Knowledge of global privacy and regulatory frameworks, such as GDPR, CCPA, GLBA, HIPAA, or other privacy laws and regulations
  • Experience with different privacy frameworks, including GAPP and NIST
  • Familiarity with OneTrust is a plus
  • Within commutable distance to Oak Brook, IL

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Substantive understanding of data privacy, technology, and related terminology
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and balance risks in ambiguous and complex situations
  • Ability to quickly spot issues and appropriately prioritize risk and outcomes
  • Growth mindset – every new challenge is an opportunity to learn and grow
  • Extremely organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and drive projects to successful completion
  • Excellent work ethic and flexibility
  • Works well in a collaborative team environment

Additional Qualifications (Preferred):

  • Master’s degree
  • Big 4 experience
  • Interpersonal skills with the ability to influence without authority
  • Communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and build a consensus among stakeholders

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Director of Privacy and Corporate Compliance to advance Chamberlain Group’s privacy strategy and execute the privacy roadmap
  • Drive the execution and continuous improvement of internal privacy compliance projects, initiatives, policies, and procedures, including handling related documentation and reporting
  • Support development and continuous improvement of standardized privacy compliance resources and tools for use across the business
  • Assist with development, updating, and execution of privacy awareness and compliance training
  • Manage day-to-day activities of the privacy program
  • Own and project manage cross-functional privacy compliance projects
  • Support privacy compliance audits/reviews and oversee remediation activities across the organization
  • Communicate program and project progress, escalations, and issues to key stakeholders
