Lead Software Development Engineer in Test

The Role:

As Lead Software Development Engineer in Test at Percent, you are expected to be meticulous in planning, enabling, and performing the quality assurance processes that lead to the continuous improvement of our software and methodologies. We want you to help us devise and expand our test automation plan throughout our technology ecosystem.

As part of this mission's critical function, you will be expected to deliver a reliable, extensible, and automated suite of solutions, as well as enhance our current testing strategies. You will be a highly valued member of one of our cross-functional product teams and will be expected to influence the direction of our product. You will report directly to one of our team leads.

You have:

Extensive experience with Automation Testing covering both frontend Web, APIs, and various API testing tools.
Experience with pipelines (Github actions, Bitbucket pipelines) creating, maintaining, debugging and fixing issues.
Helped mentor manual QA engineers to become SDETs.
Experience with end-to-end testing frameworks like Cypress and Playwright.
An ability to create and execute optimised test cases, test plans, manual testing, end-to-end flows, and document tests.
The skill to design and implement test approaches in both a team setting and organisation-wide.
Working knowledge of JavaScript / TypeScript.
Excellent communication skills to report and resolve issues with your team.
The ability to provide insight into the product domain and care deeply about our product user flows from a holistic perspective.
The ability to validate user acceptance criteria by working closely with a cross-functional product team before development begins.
You are a kind, empathetic engineer with the initiative to develop, maintain, and evolve engineering processes.
You are curious and love to learn.
Nice to have's:

Experience at a Series A scale-up.
Experience with setting up test environments and populating with fixture data.
CI/CD experience with various deployment pipelines
