The Role

Job Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and maintain a robust real-time bidding system that efficiently handles high-volume bid requests in the retail media landscape.
• Implement bidding strategies that optimize for KPIs while considering factors such as budget constraints, targeting criteria, and user behaviour.
• Create advanced machine learning algorithms and optimization techniques to improve ad targeting, relevancy, and user engagement, extending to traffic shaping algorithms that will help increase fill rates.
• Utilize data mining and statistical analysis to identify patterns, trends, and opportunities for enhancing bid optimization strategies.
• Optimize and scale the bidding infrastructure to accommodate increasing demand and handle real-time auctions efficiently.
• Engage in technical architecture discussions, solve ambiguous problems, and execute on a solution with a diverse team of engineers and product owners.
• Work directly with cutting-edge machine learning and distributed computing technologies in a highly scalable, cloud-based environment to optimize metrics related to Real-Time Bidding (RTB).
• Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the advertising industry to guide decisions about our technical approach and key features to implement.
• Use technology to innovate and implement various ad tech features, privacy frameworks and setup integrations with external partners.
Qualifications:
• Data Science / ML Engineer with 5+ years of experience.
• B.S. in Computer Science preferred or equivalent experience.
• Must have experience in a high-volume transaction system > 100k transactions/second.
• Must have experience in Real-Time Bidding (RTB) AdTech domain with successful implementation of Ad Products at an AdTech company.
• Solid understanding of machine learning techniques, including supervised and unsupervised learning, and experience applying them to solve real-world problems.
• Strong grasp of advertising technologies like Demand-Side Platforms (DSPs), Supply-Side Platforms (SSPs), and real-time bidding protocols (OpenRTB).
• A history of successfully shipping products related to AdTech RTB into production
• Knowledge of cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and distributed computing principles.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical mindset, and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
