Role

As a Software Engineer at Qunnect, you will help build software systems to support our innovative quantum networking products. This position will work closely with scientists and engineers across the company to build software to control, monitor, and synchronize a variety of distributed networking devices. Stand-alone scripting and data visualization software for internal research and development will evolve into integrated, customer-facing tools for network operations.

This is a true full-stack role that will involve designing APIs, implementing user-friendly interfaces, developing algorithms, planning infrastructure and deployment processes, and interfacing with embedded systems. The work will primarily be in Python and Javascript/Typescript initially, but will involve interfacing with systems written in C++.

Job Description

Design, develop, and maintain a web application for controlling and monitoring Qunnect’s device suite
Work with scientists and engineers to implement new features and integrate new products
Assist with scripting and data visualization for research and development
Enable hardware deployments and integrations with outside collaborators
Design and improve protocols and algorithms for real-time device calibration and synchronization
Improve software standards, tooling, and processes
Plan and manage infrastructure growth
Qualifications

2+ years building and shipping production ready code
Experience with contemporary web development frameworks (React, Vue, Angular, etc)
Excellent command of Python, Javascript/Typescript, or C++
Experience with CI/CD processes, unit testing, software documentation
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Self-directed and comfortable working in a quickly changing environment
Experience with robotic control systems, real-time systems, hardware interfaces, or Arduino/FPGAs a plus
Interest in learning the science behind our products, though a physics or photonics background is not required
