Chief Data Officer (Co-founder)

🌍 Fully remote role within +/- 2 CEST, Italy preferred

💰 An initial considerably equity share followed by a very competitive salary after our successful pre-seed round. We do not require you to quit your job before a salary is available to you!

Our company is a young and dynamic Fintech company aiming to revolutionize B2B transactions. In particular, we want to enable SMBs to have / give access to financing options at the Point of Sale to facilitate their purchases (and this is just the beginning!).

The Role

We're looking to build our credit scoring technology in-house, starting with a Chief Data Officer who has a vision and managerial capabilities to build everything from scratch but, basically, you will be involved in any aspect of the company from day 0, with a particular focus on Data Science!

You'll come onboard and be responsible for:

🛠️ building credit scoring iterations

💡 defining technology strategy

More specifically...

🙋🏼‍♂️ Lead on the full lifecycles of credit scoring engine development from ideation, requirement specification, to proof of concept, to full build and test, launching in market, and operating at scale

🖥 Develop a solid Data Structure to make the best out the data we will collect over time

📝 Implement new features, maintaining existing software, and write clean, scalable, and robust codes

🧑🏾‍💻 Interview/hire, manage, and mentor other Data Scientists

📱 Manage source code control, software integration, and algorithm releases

📑 Produce clear and accurate technical documentation

🏃 Lead an Agile development environment including sprint planning, user story prioritisation, task estimation, sprint implementation, and sprint review

👨🏽‍🏫 Manage and work closely with external data providers

👨🏼‍💻 Discuss with other founding members the company’s overall strategy

The role has enormous scope for growth as we look to bring on additional Data Scientists. We want to bring someone onboard who grows the company (and with it), gains broad exposure to all elements of building a high growth startup, and develops into a fantastic leader in the process.

🤞 Essentials:

• Proactivity is top of the list
• Bachelor's degree in Math, Physics, Data Science, Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• Preferred experience working in two or more of the following: credit scoring, financial modeling, SMBs rating, Risk management, AI and software systems
• Ability to speak and write in English or Italian fluently

👏 Desirables:

• Advanced degree in Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, other technical fields, or related experience
• Experience working in a start-up environment
• Experience working with and implementing AI and machine learning systems
• An interest and experience in finance and risk management
