Current Opportunity: Senior Data Analytics Engineer, Austin, TX
The Michael and Susan Dell Foundation is looking for a Senior Data Analytics engineer to join our Enterprise & Data Services team. This person will be responsible for the design, development, deployment, and maintenance of business intelligence data solutions that power insightful reports/ dashboards driving analysis and decision making. This role requires that the person is based in Austin, TX.
Position Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, deploy, and maintain high-quality, scalable solutions across the entire data lifecycle, from raw data to analytics ready data sets enabling visualization team to build powerful insights & analytics.
• Partner with a cross functional team of business users, visualization experts and measurement & evaluation staff to understand, develop & document business requirements, translate to technical requirements and guide envisioning the end solution.
• Building data solutions: Clean and transform raw data from various internal & external data sources into consumable information and business logic, curate user-ready datasets and data sources. Expand our data marts with clean data ready for analysis.
• Help define and improve our internal data infrastructure including development methodology, CI/CD and QA processes.
• Monitor, debug and maintain data transformations.
• Profile data sets for completeness and validity, and build automated SQL scripts to assess completeness, validity, and other data metrics for the data warehouse.
Technical skills and experience:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS, or a related field or equivalent experience required
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience building data warehousing, business intelligence, and analytics solutions using Microsoft technologies on-perm and in the cloud.
• 4+ years working experience with SQL Server including advanced T-SQL, SQL for data analysis, query tuning and SQL Server agents
• Strong knowledge of Data warehousing, Dimensional modeling and ETL concepts & techniques
• Experience in using Business Intelligence toolsets in the areas of data modeling, data extraction, transformation, and visualization
• Hands-on experience in ETL/ELT configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting
• Experience in creation of CI/CD pipeline, data integrity checks and QA processes.
• Experience building dashboards on Tableau and/or Power BI (Tableau nice to have)
• Background in Scrum/Agile project management environment
• Experience with Microsoft Cloud data storage & analytics solutions/ services like Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse is a plus
